You tend to go back to who feels like home

  • I had a super nice catch up dinner with Wai on Wednesday. We were supposed to do Japanese BBQ but the place was cloesd and we were both pretty disappointed about it to be honest. For quite a while after we couldn't figure out what we were going to do instead because we didn't feel like going too far, so we settled on Pony. I was hesitant because I've never really been pleased with anything I've ordered from there in the past, but I kept an open mind. Decided to try their chicken steak which came with fries and gravy sauce and I have to say that I was quite impressed! I really enjoyed it and ate everything so I was really satisfied after. Plus it was lovely spending time with Wai. We don't hang out as much as we used to anymore but I really am going to miss her when I go back home in one month.

  • Was quite pleased with myself during my Media Aesthetics class the following day because my teacher had given us time to edit and work on our sound project. I never used the program before and was worried that I wouldn't be able to figure out how things worked but after playing around with it a bit, I came up with something I was really happy with. In fact, I finished half of my assignment and was able to take the five o'clock bus since my teacher let us go early (I'm gonna go into school Monday morning to complete everything with the help of a friend). I met up with Anita on the bus and we ran some errands at both Market Village and Grand Market. I picked up four new nail polish colors: black with red sparkles, red sparkles, grey and dark purple all of which are gorgeous and very fitting for the upcoming holiday season. We ate dinner at the Night Market, though I wasn't very pleased with my choice of food.

  • Yesterday I accompanied Anita on the photoshoot she was having done. There's a guy in our school called Joe who is a photographer and they'd organized this thing ages ago but it kept getting postponed. I thought it would be fun to tag along and see another part of Hua Hin. Turns out though I was quite bored throughtout the shoot since its not like I was doing anything. Not to mention the fact that we were in the forest and I was getting eaten alive by mosquitos. Something pretty funny and traumatizing happened though. I bought an ice cream from the little restaurant they had there because I wanted something to cool me down and while we were walking through the woods, a wild monkey came after me because he wanted the food! I literally threw it at him, screamed and ran away. Anita thought it was hilarious and filmed the entire thing to put on snapchat. While we were setting up in one area for the shoot, a swarm of monkeys came then because they thought we had more food on us and I swear they were blocking our exit so it was like we were trapped. I actually thought we were gonna die. Luckily they gave up after a while and left, but still! Crazy experience for sure.

  • I started watching Jessica Jones last night. Only two episodes in but that's enough to solidify the fact that I am completely and totally in love with this show already. I knew I would be, but I had so many expectations so its good that they are being exceeded. I've always loved Krysten Ritter and she is just so badass here. I'm looking forward to watching more and finding out Jessica's past with Killgrave and how her relationship with Luke develops. All I want to do is marathon the shit out of all thirteen episodes but unfortunately I have some homework I need to do today.

LOL at your Rise of the Planet of the Apes situation. Sounds a little scary, but funny, too.

Danielabraverys on November 22nd, 2015 04:17 am (UTC)
I think that experience is going end up being a great one to tell at parties and such haha.

OMG that is crazy about the monkeys! I would be so terrified!

Ahh, I'm so excited for Jessica Jones! I adore Krysten Ritter, and I'm so sure I will adore this show.
Danielabraverys on November 22nd, 2015 04:18 am (UTC)
It was pretty scary because I really didn't want to risk being bitten or something but looking back now, it is pretty funny.

You are going to LOVE it.

Those monkeys would have scared the shit out of me as well, I don't blame you!

I'm loving Jessica Jones!
Danielabraverys on November 22nd, 2015 04:19 am (UTC)
I mean, they're totally used to being around humans. They came so close to us. I didn't know what to do. I'm just glad they left eventually.

Omg its so good. I'm about halfway done now and I just want to keep watching.

I'm glad you got to spend some time with Wai and that you ended up enjoying what you ordered at that place. What kind of place is Pony then? Because you've been there before and didn't like it, I can understand you were hesitant about going again, but yay for a better experience this time.

What kind of sound project are you working on for the Media Asthetics class?

And oh wow, what a crazy experience with the monkeys! I can so understand being terrified, I would have that too. But I'm glad you're okay of course :D

I cannot wait to check out Jessica Jones, but I don't think I'll have the time for that soon. It's good to hear that you love it already though, makes me even more excited.
Danielabraverys on November 22nd, 2015 04:21 am (UTC)
Pony Cafe has a bunch of different foods. I just have never been completely happy with the things I've ordered from there and have experienced food poisoning on the occasion too. Luckily it all worked out this time.

We had to record a small little story for my class. I decided to do mine about elves working in Santa's workshop, getting the presents ready for Christmas Eve haha.

You never know what can happen with wild animals! The monkeys are so used to being around humans but it was still a bit scary.

I think you'll end up loving Jessica Jones. It is just amazing.

I'm so curious and excited about Jessica Jones! I watched the trailer a while back and it looked awesome. I'm going to try and wait a while before I watch it because I'm still behind on a lot of my other shows, but with all the good things I'm hearing I'm not sure how long I can wait ;)

Your crazy monkey experience sounds both scary and hilarious :)
Danielabraverys on November 22nd, 2015 04:22 am (UTC)
Hopefully you can watch Jessica Jones soon. Its amazing and its been so long since I've felt this way about a show.

Hahaha when I told my dad what happened, he couldn't stop laughing. It'll be a good party story someday!

You definitely need to watch it. So, so, so good.

That monkey thing... it does sound funny sorry. XD But then if it had been me in your shoes I think I would have reacted the same way as you. lol Are monkey's common around there?

You're the second friend on my friends list that has mentioned Jessica Jones. XD Seems popular. LOL
Danielabraverys on November 22nd, 2015 04:24 am (UTC)
Haha no need to apologize! It was pretty funny, but we just wanted to be cautious that they wouldn't bite us or anything like that. And yes, they are quite common around here, especially if you go up the mountains and stuff. Some of them are pretty cute too, as long as you admire them from afar.

kael1030: Kirarakael1030 on November 22nd, 2015 11:39 am (UTC)
Oh Gosh. Have you had many run ins with the monkeys before? They sound like they can be quite a menace.
Danielabraverys on November 22nd, 2015 02:36 pm (UTC)
I visited Monkey Mountain at the beginning of my trip and was planning on actually buying food there to feed them, but I chickened out because there were SO MANY. They can be super tame actually though. I have a friend who had like fifty swarming him once and they were all over him and nothing bad happened ^^
kael1030: kitty playkael1030 on November 22nd, 2015 05:04 pm (UTC)
Oh wow. And quite scary at the same time. XD What kind of money are they? :)
Danielabraverys on November 23rd, 2015 12:58 am (UTC)
They're called long-tailed macaque monkeys. I just looked it up.

Awwwww the look adorable with their babies <3

Glad you got to spend some time with Wai, and that the food was good!

That's so crazy about the monkeys! I would've been so scared, but I bet it was funny after the fact.

Jessica Jones is on my list of shows to watch! Hopefully I can get to it sometime soon.
Danielabraverys on November 22nd, 2015 04:25 am (UTC)
I mean it obviously didn't compare to the Japanese BBQ place, but at least we still got to spend some time together.

Oh its actually quite hilarious now that I think about it. My dad laughed so hard when I told him what happened.

Yes! Do watch Jessica Jones when you get the chance. I'm completely obsessed.

I'm glad you had a good meal from Pony, despite having been disappointed before.

Getting eaten alive by mosquitoes is never fun! =S
Danielabraverys on November 22nd, 2015 04:26 am (UTC)
That was the first time that I was satisfied after eating there. Of course that has to happen a month or so before I leave.

Ugh, I have bug bites all over my feet now. They're not pleasant.
ℒoкι ; ღcrazybellatrix on November 22nd, 2015 04:31 am (UTC)
Perhaps you won't be so hesitant next time you go there =]

Ugh. That's not nice. I hate insect bites.
Danielabraverys on November 22nd, 2015 02:37 pm (UTC)
It's just so convenient because its literally right across the street and sometimes I don't feel like traveling to get food haha.

Ugh me too! I got bitten some more today but ah well. Welcome to the tropics :p
ℒoкι ; ღcrazybellatrix on November 23rd, 2015 05:15 am (UTC)
I know that feeling all too well. xD.

I used to live in the tropics; this was a constant problem. Lol.

They're quite common here, especially up in the mountain areas. I'm glad they left soon after they came as well.
